With local manufacturing facilities in Melbourne’s Laverton North, we work closely with architects, builders, and clients to create innovative and beautiful living environments.

 

The Opportunity

We are seeking a full-time Welder to work day shift at our Laverton North factory/workshop. Some key responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:

  • Use drawings and specifications to determine suitable material, method, and sequence of operations and machine settings
  • Fit fabricated metal and wooden parts into products and assembling metal and wooden parts
  • Subassemblies to produce door jambs, cavity sliders, and any other products, as required
  • Check fabricated and assembled components for accuracy, clearance, and fit using precision measuring instruments
  • Setting guides, stops, jigs and other controls for fabrication, setting up prescribed cutting, folding, and welding machinery and setting controls
  • Responsible for the programmed maintenance of equipment
  • Ensure sufficient task analysis is completed to carry work out safely
  • Quality assurance checks, set up, and measurement activities
  • Operate a forklift

 

Who You Are

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Previous experience utlising MIG welding (essential)
  • Previous experience utilising TIG welding and aluminium welding (MIG and TIG) (highly regarded)
  • Recent experience in a manufacturing/production environment, including working towards daily targets
  • Proficient in measuring and cutting
  • Able to interpret technical /fabrication drawings and welding symbols effectively
  • High level of OHS knowledge, with a commitment to safety and following standard work practices
  • Ability to produce quality outcomes with an eye for continuous improvement and quality control
  • Basic computer skills
  • Available to work weekends on occasion (penalty rates apply)
